Archie Comics is a series of comic books published by Archie.

In 1993, Archie Comic Publications, Inc. released several comics relating to the Sonic the Hedgehog series, including original adaptations of the Sonic the Hedgehog television series, Knuckles the Echidna, Sonic X, Sonic Boom, and an original title called Sonic Universe. Sega was the official sponsor of all the comics. However, as of 2017, Archie has canceled all Sonic-related publications.

The Comics Code Authority (CCA) seal used to be on Archie Comics, but it was withdrawn in February 2011 to self-regulate content.

The first issue of Mega Man is based on the Capcom games and features the same-named protagonist. It was released in May 2011 by Archie Comics. Mega Man #24-27 collaborated with Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Universe in the twelve-issue narrative Sonic & Mega Man: Worlds Collide, which ran from April to August 2013. A second crossover involving Mega Man, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Sonic Universe comics took place from May to August 2015, resulting in a twelve-issue storyline known as Worlds Unite, after which the Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Universe comics canon was rebooted.

On July 19, 2017, Sega confirmed that Archie would no longer carry the Sonic license, which was later transferred to IDW Publishing, therefore ending the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic line.

Trade Paperbacks by Sonic

  • Throughout the Sonic comics’ lifespan, Archie published several standalone graphic novels and various series, each rehashing previous issues or storylines.
  • The Beginnings of Sonic (originally published as Sonic Super Special Issue 3)
  • Sonic: The Beginning is a reprint of the first four issues of the Sonic miniseries.
  • The Sonic the Hedgehog Archives (starting with a reprint of Sonic: The Beginning as Volume 0) collects all four issues of the Sonic the Hedgehog series (Volume 13 contains two points, one in its Sonic Super Special directors cut form as well as two more stories from the Sonic Super Specials).
  • He was reprinting stories when Ian Flynn began writing for the comic, the Sonic Saga Series.
  • We are reprinting Sonic the Hedgehog stories from the start of the “post super genesis wave timeline.”
  • We are reprinting canon stories from the Sonic Specials, Sonic Super Specials, and different Sonic miniseries in Sonic Select.
  • Knuckles Archives: Six issues of Knuckles the Echidna are reprinted in each edition. The Knuckles miniseries and the first three issues of the Knuckles series are included in the first collection.

Sonic Universe is a fictional universe created by Sonic.

After the Sonic X comic book cancellation, it was replaced by a spin-off series named Sonic Universe, which started up precisely where the original left off. The series comprises four-issue story arcs that allow readers to learn more about characters and places that aren’t featured in the main book. In addition, the hooks were designed with trade paperbacks in mind (see the graphic novel section below). Tracy Yardley had previously illustrated nearly every issue of the comic. There were a total of 94 cases published in the series.
